Sales Director, Industrial Water Market - Remote USA

The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategic plans to drive sales growth throughout North America, outperforming sales targets while expanding the company’s presence and market share. This leader will build and lead Fluence’s Industrial Water and Reuse business in North America, focusing on business development activities that create and advance new opportunities across the full sales cycle — from qualifying leads and customer engagement to proposal, negotiation, and close
- Lead business development efforts to build a robust pipeline, actively identifying new customers, new markets, and untapped opportunities for the Industrial Water and Reuse business in N America.
- Manage sales funnel activities through CRM and reporting tools, regularly engaging with senior leadership to share updates on progress, opportunities, and challenges
- Engage in developing and implementing strategic plans for growth.
- Ensure contracts are in compliance with company requirements
- Prepare project reviews prior to bid date for the appropriate level of approval.
- Create and communicate sales goals and ensure leadership is informed on the progress of those goals.
- Stay attuned to industry trends and competitive landscapes, translating insights into actionable strategies for the team.
- Build and grow a sales team over time, offering coaching, mentorship, and strategic leadership to support the team’s success as the business scales
- Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships in the North American industrial water market, leveraging deep technical knowledge of solutions such as reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, and electro-deionization.
- Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals.
- Drive and prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
- Negotiate and close agreements.
- Collaborate across Marketing, Product Development, and Product Management to ensure brand consistency, inform product development needs, and equip the sales team with effective sales tools
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, finance, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in commercial sales or a related field, with a strong track record of building successful sales strategies and achieving revenue targets.
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or management role, with demonstrated ability to lead sales teams and manage complex sales cycles.
- Knowledge of industrial water treatment solutions, including reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, and electro-deionization.
- Proven experience working with remote and globally distributed teams is highly desirable.
This role requires a hands-on sales leader who thrives on both developing high-level growth strategies and rolling up their sleeves to directly engage customers, negotiate agreements, and close deals.
